It's a nice day for a white wedding...

(And the award for the least original title goes!)

So today, Kate Middleton (or Catherine, as she will go by now apparently) and Prince William married at Westminster Abbey, in front of a monumental crowd, and even more watching at home, (me included.)

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of people watching, the Royal Family get a lot of bad press, so it was nice to see such a large percentage of the population interested.

The bride looked simply stunning in a gorgeous dress, designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, with a tiara borrowed from the Queen, (made by Cartier in 1936, purchased by the Queen's father, the Duke of York (later King George VI) for his Duchess (later Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mother.) I think the dress is beautifully timeless very Grace Kelly-esque, and sophisticated, a brilliant choice for the future consort Queen!

The long-awaited balcony kiss!

I watched the wedding coverage all day - like many of us I think. Well, from about 10:30 when I woke up! I didn't realise it was on so early, I missed Harry and William going in, which I was a bit peeved at. I thought it was lovely, the Abbey is beautiful, the Queen looked very on-trend in yellow, Prince Harry looked gorgeous as usual, albeit a bit hungover by the looks of things, Prince William looked handsome, the bridesmaids and pageboys looked adorable, and there were some ridiculous hats/fascinators on show (Princess Beatrice, Victoria Beckham, I'm looking at you!) All in all, a marvelous wedding.

Did you watch? And what did you think of her dress?

(I'll do a proper post in a few hours, but I couldn't go without doing a post on the wedding!)

Now I have a camera, I plan to start taking photo's, and therefore, once a week, will do a blogpost with a certain amount of photo's. Obviously I'm one of a long list of bloggers who do this, so you understand what I'm trying to say/do.
(From left to right.)

01. I went out for a meal and then the pub on Wednesday night (20th) to celebrate my 18th in my family, and wore my new red dress! 02. The salmon was too good, so I had to take a picture. It was lovely! 03. I did, however, get 'inordinately pissed' (kudos if you can guess the film/character who says this!) and I, for some unknown reason, decided to take a picture of a few of the drinks. I was drinking the wine. It was good wine. Shame it made me so sick at 3am! 04. I was hunting through my room the other day, and I found this little purse, I used to use it as a coin purse, but it fits my camera almost perfectly! 05. This is how I occupied myself on the train journey home. The book's 'Revolutionary Road' (made into a film with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, but I'm not enjoying it very much, so I've put it on hold for a while. The song I was listening to, incidentally, was 'Teardrop' by Massive Attack. 06. It's nice to see the tree leaves so green again, and it was sunny, so I snapped a picture whilst walking home yesterday. I got a really weird look from a passer-by!
(Edit: Not entirely sure why my pictures decided to go all blurry, usually, they're not at all like that. Bloody thing!)

Happy Easter!

I hope you're all having a lovely Easter, whether you're going to church, spending the day gorging on chocolate, or both! (How cute are those rabbits!!)

It's my 18th birthday tomorrow (yey) so I'll post properly Tuesday I'd imagine, I took a few pictures over the week that I'll post then (hopefully.)

Until then, enjoy the lovely weather!

This week.

I'm going away tomorrow, so I thought I would do a post today, so my blog isn't too bare, because I won't be able to post while I'm away - I leave my laptop at home, needing a break and all that. I'm only going from Sat-to-Sat so I should be able to cope! I'm only going to visit my dad/other family near London, nothing exotic unfortunately!

Anyway, this week I have been guzzling copius amounts of smoothies,
this smoothie to be exact. I pass a small Tesco's on my way back from college, and I keep being drawn there to pick up this!

I also finished another book, 'House Rules' by Jodi Picoult,

which was amazing. I love her books, bar one or two, and this does not dissapoint - mostly. However, I guessed part of the ending halfway through the book - I presume it wasn't meant to be a secret, and I was quite dissapointed at the way she ended. She's known for her ambiguous endings, so I don't know why I'm surprised, but there we go. I'd give 4/5 :)

Also, I GOT A JOB! I've been too lazy to look for one really, but this literally fell into my lap. It's not much, just distributing leaflets/flyers for a gym in the town centre, but the pay is decent, and for 2 hours a day, 5 days a week, I'm not complaining. I'm so glad I'll have some income, I hate being skint!

AND it's my birthday on Easter Monday (25th April). Which I'm looking forward to (of course.)

Now I'm rambling, so I'll go now. I shall be back in a week!

Avon order!

I plan on making an Avon order within the next week, and I've not used Avon in a few years, so does anyone have any 'holy grail' products they recommend??
I so far have 'SuperExtend Mascara' and 'Calming Effects' foundation :)

Books books books.

I finally finished ‘Saturday’ by Ian McEwan. Now, I’ve been reading this since about September. I start reading it, then I read another book instead and it languishes on my bedside table collecting dust until I pick it up again. It just didn’t grab my attention, but I persevered, and managed to finish it this afternoon! It’s really boring until the last 70 or so pages in my opinion, and I don’t think I’ll be reading it again. It’s got potential, but it just seemed like nothing happened for most of the book. It could be because it took so long for me to read that I think this, but then again there must be a reason why I stopped reading it so many times. Hmm. A disappointment.

Friday Fancies!

Friday Fancies
Things I want this week! I've been obsessing over floaty blouses recently, I have one, but I use it as a second layer, and I don't do it up....mainly because I bought in a size too small because they didn't have my size, so it doesn't really do over my bust, annoying much. I'm going shopping Sunday, I'll try and buy one then :) I am also currently loving peter pan collars. I have a peter pan collar dress, which I love, so now I want more! And this top is a beautifulll colour as well. Same with the breton top really, I just really want one for slouchy days to wear with jeans and brogues or converse :)
