Lip balms and my poor lips.

Hiiiiiiiii :)
So recently, I've been suffering from super dry, cracked lips. So bad that my lips sometimes bleed. It's Summer, this should not be happening. I'm not sure what's causing it, which makes it worse. I'm slapping on lip balm to try and stop it, but oh no, nothing is helping. I shall show you the lip balms I use:

A Strawberry Carmex sample I got in a recent magazine (which tastes awesome), Nivea Pearl and Shine Lipcare, Lypsyl, Rose Vaseline.

Now while usually these do me fine, none are currently working for me. The Lypsyl does the best job, but nothing is really stopping it.
So I have two questions:
  1.  Are any of you having the same bother?
  2. Do you have any idea about what I could use instead?
I'm really at a loss as to what to do, I'm getting quite sick of bleeding lips :(

  1. I've had a lot of trouble with lip balms too. I've been using a boots one, but it has given me spots at the corner of my mouth that have now formed an attractive flakey dry patch that refuses to heal. I normally just stick with strawberry carmex now, but I think Blistex do a medicated lip balm for super dry lips. Maybe that might help?
Hope you find a product that helps!

  3. Hey, I've had major lip problems for years now. Blistex are the only way to go. Petroleum jelly based balms only keep already soft lips in good condition and protect from damage. They do not help with bad dryness and soreness. To get your lips back to being lovely I highly recommend Blistex Relief Cream, it comes in a little metal tube and has a lovely tingly-good feeling when applied. Once this has cleared up the worst of my problem lips I then use Blistex Intensive Moisturiser to keep them tiptop. I totally understand where you're coming from, I was so frustrated til I discovered these little gems :) Good luck, Lucy x

  4. I have had the same problem, but I found by switching to natural products without harsh chemicals, my lips recovered so quickly. If you're looking for reasonably-priced, natural balms, try www.supersmoocher.com - so many lovelies, especially Burt's Bees(cheaper than in shops) & free delivery! xx

  5. I tend to use honey and beeswax based lip balms - try Burt's Bees, they seem to help a lot more than Vaseline or Blistex for me :) xx

  6. I find Blistex (the medicated one in the annoying metal tube) is the best lip balm for dry cracked lips. Barely any others seem to do anything for me!

  7. It sounds weird, but I use beeswax hand cream on my lips at night and most of the awful bits are fixed in the morning. Anything with a beeswax base seems ok though. Try Dr Bronner's Naked Organic lip balm:)

  8. I have this same problem, I always get like a split down the middle of my bottom lip and absolutely nothing clears it up apart from Elizabeth Ardens Eight Hour Cream. It is amazing. Its slightly more expensive compared to high street things, but it's worth investing in as lasts for ever and can be used on anything from burns, dry skin and highlighter with make up! Hope this helps! :)
Here's my blog if you're interested in looking at, I write mainly about lingerie fashoin but would be greatful if you could check it out :)!
