Shoes, glorious shoes.

Wishlist

Shoes shoes shoes. Can we ever have enough? No, no is the answer.
Lots of black, I know. I can't help it, I love black shoes. In fact, that green pair? There's also a black pair available which are gorgeous. I've tried them on, I can't walk in them, but hey, I can still lust after them right?

The first two pairs I've also tried on, and LOVED. However, 1. is too expensive for me at £75, so I shall be on the lookout for a cheaper pair! I do plan on buying the second pair though.

I saw 4. & 5. last time I popped into River Island a few weeks ago, and I love them. I would never be able to walk in 5. (see 3.!) but I love the spikes so much. I love how the boots have the little bit of burgundy on them, makes a change to an ordinary pair of black boots!

The 6th pair are beautiful, I love how they're translucent, I've not seen many pairs like it around, I may have to purchase a pair...

Sorry blogging's been a bit slow again recently, spending time with my other half means blogging takes a back seat! I'm also watching the Olympics avidly, especially whenever Tom Daley's beautiful abs grace my screen.....how are you finding the Olympics?
I'll be honest, I thought travelling through London during this time would be absolutely horrific, but I passed straight through Stratford from Ebbsfleet on my way to St. Pancras yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised; and the extra staff were polite!

To those that have had to travel through the heart of the Olympic stations, how are you finding it?

Recent NOTD

So instead of showing you the different nail colours that I have been sporting over the past two weeks or so in different posts, I decided to put all four into one post. Originally, I was going to do a post for each, but life happened, and by the time I had time to do a post, I had changed my polish four times! If you want me to a polish review in more detail let me know in the comments :)

In order of date - with the oldest first :)

Models Own 'Hedonist' from the Hedkandi range: I LOVE this. Such a bright coral, the most neon polish I own by far. It's slightly matte when on nails however, but I always add a top coat - which makes it shiny. Gorgeous colour for summer.

Barry M Berry Ice Cream & Models Own Indian Ocean: I bought Indian Ocean a while back, but I find that it takes too many coats to wear on it's own, so I had to find a polish that would go with it. As I was perusing Google I came across this blog, and found this colour combination looked gorgeous, so I went for it. I love this :)

Topshop's Barefoot and Models Own Disco Mix: I posted about the Topshop polish a little while ago, here, and I decided to add Disco Mix to it because I like an accent glitter nail, but don't think I'd want a whole hand of glitter, it's such a pig to take off!

One
Barry M Colbalt Blue & Cyan Blue. Barry M Red & Orange (can't remember specific names.) This was my first attempt at ombre nails, trying to graduate the second colour into the base with a sponge. As you can see, didn't really work did it? In fact, you can barely see a difference with the red/orange hand, although my thumb had quite a nice ombre effect which the photo doesn't show. Although the blue isn't very ombre, I do like the effect it has created. I think it possibly wasn't a similar enough top colour for the base, but I'm not sure. I'll try again at some point!

Which colour is your favourite? I'm currently wearing another new polish that I hope to blog about next week :)

£100 ASOS Blogger Challenge!

So quite recently I've seen quite a few blog posts entitled this. I decided to check it out and came to this page. Basically, as @DiscountCoder have hit almost 1000 followers on Twitter, they decided to have a little competition. It's very simple: You go on ASOS, and create an outfit for £100 or less - without any sort of discount or student discount included - and blog about it, and on August 3rd you'll find out if you've won. I couldn't pass it up as I love ASOS & creating outfits is fun. If you want to enter, head over to the blog and have a look here :)

Untitled
Dress - £25
Wedges - £35
Bag - £18
Rings - £6
Total: £96

As soon as I saw this gorgeous dress I knew I had to include it. So summery, even if the weather won't necessarily cooperate! (Although it's meant to get sunnier soon, I'll believe it when I see it!) I'd dress it up with these gorgeous wedges and the clutch bag. I tried to get the bag to match one of the (many) colours in this dress, and I think it goes well with the blue you can see. I chose quite strong jewelery, because I personally don't like my outfits to be toooo girly, and I think the spikes in the ring and chunkiness of the cuffs works well.

PS. I had quite a few other pieces I could have turned into outfits, would you be interested in seeing those in other posts?

Review: No7's Liplicious in 'Sherbert Twist'

When I was perusing Boots last month in an attempt to find a new lip gloss, I found myself at the No7 counter, with my eyes set on this beauty. Claiming to moisturise lips, enriched with argan oils and rosehip oils, with SPF 15, I was intrigued and decided to give it a try - with a help of Boots much-loved £5 off No7 vouchers. I decided to go for 'Sherbert Twist' as it was the brightest colour, and I love my pink lip products.

It's a gorgeously bright pink, that has slight purple/blue sparkles in it when looked at closely, and it definitely moisturises my lips. I'd say it lasts about an hour without budging, this is a lipgloss you will have to refresh throughout the day, but I wouldn't expect otherwise.

I love this, and I find myself drawn to it when I want a more subtle lip, there are days when I don't want bright, bright lipstick, believe it or not!
I'd definitely recommend it; to those who have it, what do you think? They're available in a range of colours, I think 'Purple Liquorice' is possibly the most interesting, I don't know what to think!

NOTD: Topshop's 'Barefoot'

I know, I know. Two NOTD posts in a row, I suck. But I bought this polish today, have just painted it on my nails, and I am in love. So I felt like I had to show you now.

I went into Topshop today with the intention of buying a nice, new nude. Originally I set my sights on 'Threadbare', but then I saw this beauty, and I had to have. It's a gorgeous rose pink, that's quite similar to my natural nail colour anyway...only miles better and slightly lighter. It's fully opaque in two coats which is a bonus. This is a fantastic colour for when I don't want to wear really garish polish, but I do want something on my nails at the same time!
Apologies for the slightly messy nails, I took these pictures as soon as the polish had dried - which doesn't take long either incidentally!

Just to let you guys know, blogging might be a bit slow/non-existent for the coming week/ten days, I'm going to spend time with my family for a while, and my boyfriend is coming with me for a bit, meaning I'll be focusing on that & not blogging. As some of you who follow my Twitter (@katylouiseg) or perhaps even my Instagram (@sirensandbells) will know, my bf and I don't live near each other when we aren't at Uni, and long distance sucks! So every bit of time I get to spend with him this summer will be completely taken advantage of. To those who have/had long distance relationships because of Uni/being home from Uni, how did you manage? Living 3 hours away from my boyfriend when I'm used to living next door to him is HARD :(

NOTD: Models Own 'Aqua Violet'

I thought today I would show you the polish that had been adorning my nails for the majority of last week:

I went into Boots a few weeks ago and saw they had an offer of 'Buy one nail polish, get another half price' and being the nail polish addict I am (I have about 70 polishes now I think) I had to snap it up, I also bought 'Hedonist' from the Hed Kandi range.

'Aqua Violet' is from the Beetlejuice range that I have fallen in love with. I have 4 or 5 polishes from the Beetlejuice collection currently, and plan to buy more! The range comprises of nail polishes with duo-chrome colours, meaning that they may look one colour, but if you move your nail shines of another colour - sometimes more - will show through. I love shiny things, so this for me is perfect. Aqua Violet is a gorgeous colour, a dark emerald with blue tinges that shines a vivid purple in the light. The pictures do not do it justice, but then I find camera's never quite capture the colour!

I have since changed them, twice - which you will also see sooner rather than later - but I have been running quite behind on the blogging front recently, down to the fact that I have been quite ill over the weekend! I have managed to catch the flu, and have been moping around since Friday coughing and with a fever, generally feeling very sorry for myself. I've had my cough on and off for about 4/5 weeks now, it's become a nuisance, cough medicine isn't doing the job, but I have a bit of a fear of the doctors, much to my poor OH's annoyance, so I don't want to go see what's wrong!
Anyway, I'm feeling slightly better now luckily, my temp. has gone down a little, and I have quite a lot to do as I'm leaving on Friday to go stay with family and get a job there for the rest of the summer, so I cannot afford to be ill!

I am now going to go carry on enjoying the tennis, come on Murray! Anyone else watching Wimbledon, or does it bore you?
xx
