Review: Topshop's Lipstick in 'Fawn'

Another lipstick review for you today!

'Fawn' is my fifth Topshop lipstick, and I love it just as much as the other four. I umm-ed and ahh-ed about it for months and months, and then on realising it was limited edition, snapped it up!

Part of Topshop's 'Darker Side of Nude' collection, Fawn was one of two lipsticks - the second being Wicked - a dark berry colour (wish I had picked that one up too!)
It's an orange-toned nude colour, and I love it. This is the only nude like this that I own, I have many pink-toned nudes, but no orange types, so it makes a welcome change to my ever-growing lipstick collection.

As with all Topshop lipsticks, this lasts hours without need for reapplication, doesn't dry my lips out, and doesn't take many coats to be completely opaque.

I'm glad I snapped this up when I did as it is out of stock now unfortunately, although I'm looking forward to Topshop's next collection!

What do you think of 'Fawn'?

Ps. Apologies for how bad I look in the picture, I've been quite ill lately! x

Weekend Wishlist

Weekend Wishlist

1 2 3 4 5

Despite the fact that I've spent far too much money on clothes recently, there are still so many things I want to buy!

I took advantage of ASOS's 25% student discount yesterday & bought myself a pair of new Converse, but the three tops are what I wanted to buy if I'd had the money.

The shoes, well, I don't need them, but I want them. They're gorgeous, and cheap! I plan on going into town tomorrow to hunt them down, and if I like them, then those babies are mine!

I need NO more nail polish, as I'm sure you all know, but the lure of a pretty nude is too much for me to handle at the moment. I can't stop wearing nude's, I'm obsessed with Essie's Fiji!

What's on your wishlist this weekend? x

NOTD: Essie 'Fiji'

Would you believe this is my first Essie polish?! I've heard about their polishes from just about everyone, reading post after post, yet I never got around to buying them. At £7.99, they're on the pricier side to me, but after sending a tweet out asking for recommendations for the perfect nail polish, this answer cropped up quite a few times.

This polish is a gorgeous colour - a creamy, pinky nude, completely opaque in two coats. I have almost a hundred nail polishes, and this is different to every single one I've ever owned. I am in love. It makes my nails look gorgeous, and lasts a few days without chipping (I don't own a top coat at them moment!)

I can't believe it has taken me this long to buy an Essie polish, this certainly will not be my last!

What do you think of Fiji? Do you like Essie polishes? What should my next one be?

Topshop Lipstick in Depth

I thought I would show you a make-up look I used a little while ago to go out shopping. Admittedly, the dark lips are probably a little too dark for the daytime, but as it was a new lipstick - that I shall review soon - I wanted to wear it and see how I liked it! I used a lip brush so I was able to control how dense and opaque the colour was, for a nighttime look I'd make it darker I think :) I know dark lipsticks can be daunting and tricky to pull off, but I like them, so I don't care if it suits me or not!

Lush Review: Blackberry Bath Bomb

Blackberry Bath Bomb was a new try for me, but after smelling it in the shop, I was sold. It smelt gorgeously fruity, not as overpowering as some Lush products can be, and I fell in love immediately. I was intrigued to see how I would like it when in the bath, I didn't know if there would be glitter or more colours as the bomb fizzled away, so I couldn't wait to see!

As the pictures show, there's no glitter or magical colour changing in this bomb, but I like it all the same. It's incredibly softening and made my skin feel gorgeous and smell gorgeous too - for a while afterwards I could still smell the beautiful fruity scent on my skin.

I think this is one of my favourite bath bombs so far, I shall definitely repurchase!
Have you used this? What did you think?

NOTD: Ciate 'Dangerous Affair'

I've had this polish for quite a while now, but never really paid attention to it due to having so many other burgundy/red polishes. However, the other month I came across it in my stash and realised just how pretty it is.
Entirely opaque in two coats, this burgundy polish has a distinct pink tone to it, which I love. This lasts about 3 days without chipping - I don't wear a top coat however, so I'm not sure how it would be if I were to use one.

What do you think?
Ps. Sorry for the lack of posting recently, I've been snowed under at Uni!

Review: MUA's Bright Pink Lipstick

I was perusing in Superdrug recently - looking more for eyeshadow than anything else, when I came across this gorgeous MUA lipstick.
A very typical bright blue-toned pink, this girly shade is possibly my favourite shade of lipstick ever. Yes, I said it. I love the bright pink lipstick, the brighter the better. So this shade is perfect for me.
Well pigmented, with good staying power and easy to apply, this is fast become one of my favourites lipsticks. I can't believe it was only £1! This is my second MUA lipstick, I have Juicy as well, I shall definitely be purchasing more!

What do you think of MUA lipsticks?
And what's your favourite ever lipstick shade?

Weekend Wishlist: Bags

Bags

1 2 3 4 5

I go back to Uni tomorrow and for some reason I feel like I most definitely need a brand new bag to start things off! The same way I feel like I need new stationary when a year starts, this time I have decided that a new bag is needed.
A lot of bags I usually own are absolutely massive and very slouchy. I put all my crap in my bag making it needlessly heavy, so I've decided to go for a smaller, more structured bag. Hopefully I shall learn to pack things a bit better!
What's your favourite? I think mine is 2 or 3! x

NOTD: Models Own 'Southern Lights'

I was in Boots on Christmas Eve, and I was originally hoping to pick up Northern Lights from the Wonderland collection, but found there were none in stock. In fact, Southern Lights was the only Wonderland polish they had in stock. I hadn't actually looked at this one before, but as soon as I saw it, I fell in love.
It's a gorgeous lilac and multi-coloured glitter, in the light it shines lots of different colours, as you can see from the pictures. When I have this on my nails I can't stop staring at it! This is definitely now one of my favourite polishes!
I shall definitely try and pick up more Wonderland polishes next time I'm in Boots. Because the Mirrorball collection came out about the same time, I think that Wonderland got slightly forgotten about, but I much prefer this collection!

What do you think of my nails? x

Lush Review: Father Christmas Bath Ballistic

I got a big box of Lush bath bombs/ballistics for Christmas, so expect a few reviews in the coming weeks ;)
Today I've chosen to review the Father Christmas bath ballistic. I don't think this is a ballistic I would have chosen to use had I not been given it in a pack, but I'm glad I did.

Straight away this ballistic smells very strongly of oranges, which is fine if you like oranges, but I got a bit bored of the scent after a while. Usually the scent simmers down a little once you've been the bath longer, but this seemed to stay strong for quite a while.

As you can see by the pictures, the colour changes from the peach/white of the Father Christmas face, to a vivid bright green that makes the water a most interesting colour! As the ballistic goes green, you're meant to smell pine, but I smelt none, just oranges!
This ballistic also has a lot of glitter woven through it. I don't mind glitter, but it stayed on my skin after I left the bath, which I wasn't so keen on!

I loved how bright the water went and how the glitter speckled through it, I just wish the glitter didn't transfer to my skin...or the bathtub!

This ballistic is only available at Christmas, and as interesting as it was, I'm not sure I'd buy it.
