March Favourites

IMG_2138

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Blood Orange - I bought this recently and I have completely fallen in love with it, I will review it soon!

Technic High Lights - A dupe of Benefit's High Beam, I wasn't expecting an awful lot but I'm pleasantly surprised. I've been wearing it on my brow bone and cheek bones a lot, I'm glad I got it!

Lush Sweet Lips Lip Scrub - I actually bought this ages ago, but I lost it in a make-up bag for a while. When I found it a few weeks ago I started using it again and I'm so glad I found it! I get such chapped lips and this makes a big difference.

Avon Rich Moisture Lip Balm - Not particularly glamourous but a god-send for my winter-chapped lips!

Revlon Lipstick in Cherry Blossom - A gorgeous pink toned red, I love wearing this with the Barry M nail polish! Expect a review soon!

No7 Nourishing Nail & Cuticle Care -  Another older piece, I've been lavishing this over my nails in order to make them feeling a bit healthier in between polishes!

If you've done one of this posts please link me to it, I love reading them!

Happy Good Friday :) I shall now eat my way through the Hot Cross Buns! x

Lush Review: Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb

IMG_2153

I would like to start off by pointing out that this bath bomb has been created for children and babies as opposed to adults. I knew this - as it states it on the description, but I was intrigued anyway.
Straight away as I picked it up I could smell lavender and a hint of lemon, and as I've been struggling to sleep recently I knew it would be perfect.

When I put it in the water, the fizzing was pretty, but not spectacular. This bath bomb is most definitely a more relaxing one, with the lavender aroma wafting in the air as it melted into the water. There was no secret colours or glitter in this bath bomb, but I didn't expect there to be. The water turned a very pale blue colour, that the picture doesn't really do justice.

If you're after a dazzling bath bomb full of colour and glitter, then this is not the one for you. However, if you want a bath bomb that smells lovely and is incredibly relaxing, then this is the one for you.

It is slightly smaller than some of the other bath bombs, but at £1.90 it is also the cheapest!

I'm glad I bought this bath bomb, and I think I would repurchase it.

Have you tried this one? What did you think? x

Rimmel's Apocalips in Apocaliptic

I know everyone has bought and reviewed these, but as I bought mine yesterday, I got excited and had to review it straight away.

Apocaliptic is a very bright blue-based fuchsia - much bright than the pictures suggest; it has the same heart shaped application brush as the other Apocalips colours which I find useful. It lasts a few hours without the need to be re-applied, and I found I could still eat and drink with it staying on my lips.
I'm obsessed with this colour - I love bright bright lip colours and this is perfect.
Although it seems quite like a lip-gloss, I didn't find it sticky at all which is fantastic as sticky lip products are my pet hate!!

I have Apocalips in 'Nude Eclipse' as well we this, and I shall definitely be picking up the other colours!

Have you tried any of the Apocalips? What's your favourite?

PS. Apologies for the kitchen background, I'm at my mum's for Easter and this was the best light I could find! x

NOTD: Models Own Purple Blue

I've had this Models Own duo-chrome from the Beetlejuice collection for quite a while now, but I found that because it took 4 coats to be completely opaque, I was avoiding it.
I absolutely love the colour, but it would take to long to apply and wait for it to dry.
However, as I use base coats for some other of my Beetlejuice polishes, like Indian Ocean, I thought I could do the same for this. I applied one coat of Barry M's Gelly Hi Shine Polish in 'Plum' and then one coat of 'Purple Blue' and it is gorgeous!

Weekend Wishlist: Topshop Make-Up

Weekend Wishlist

 1 2 3 4 5

The Tosphop where I live doesn't have a make-up stand, so whenever I go home in the holidays I always end up stocking up on make-up because the stand there is pretty big.

I don't need any of these things (I never do) but these have all stood out to me for some time now, so I think it's only fair that I pick up some new bits now that I'm home.
The green/gold polish is meant to be a dupe for Chanel's Peridot so I definitely think this will be my first purchase!

What do you think of this week's picks?

Review: Clinique's Chubby Sticks for Lips in 'Chunky Cherry'

After hearing these being hyped about for ages and ages, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase one. This is much more than I would normally pay for a product like this, but I was already buying other things and this product would make the price high enough for me to qualify for free delivery!

I chose 'Chunky Cherry' A colour that looks an intense bright red in the bullet when transferred to lips becomes a pretty red balm that looks like my lips but better with a red tinge. These are not extremely pigmented, but then they are not meant to be extremely so.
I found that the colour lasted a few hours without food and drink, and left my lips feeling soft - a must in these horrendous English weather.

However, I have also got a few of the Revlon 'Just Bitten Balm Stains' that are incredibly similar, and I think I prefer them - they're half the price for the same payout.

That being said, I'm glad I purchased this, and I use it often enough to justify it!

Lush Review: Party Popper Bath Ballistic

So I had this bath ballistic left over from Christmas and used it recently, I'm dismayed to find that it was only a Christmas product so it's not available to buy until October/November time, or whenever they start re-releasing their Christmas products. I'd never used this product before, so I was intrigued to see how it fared. I noticed a fruity fragrance straight away - that nicely reminded me of Bucks Fizz! This ballistic is definitely meant to emanate Christmas Parties etc, so I think the smell is perfect for this. I wasn't so keen on the confetti to begin with, but it dissolved in the bath so I wasn't too worried - I hate having to fish out confetti once I'm done. I've since discovered it is soap confetti, so if you wish, you can wash yourself with it! I noticed that this ballistic softened my skin, which is always a bonus, and the pink and blue colours that emerged when it was fizzing away were pretty, leaving me with a pleasant pink/purple bath water. I would probably use this ballistic again, although it was not one of my favourites, it's certainly one of the better ballistics!

Review: Barry M's Gelly Hi Shine Nail Polish in 'Pomegranate'

I've had this polish sitting in my polish box for a few months now, but for some reason it was only this week that I decided to actually use it.
And I am glad I did! I have fallen in love with the colour completely, it's a gorgeous dark pink with a hint of red in. It's opaque in two coats, and doesn't need a top coat due to the gorgeous shine this range of polishes have naturally. It lasted a few days without chipping, nothing special, nothing terrible.
I couldn't stop looking at my nails when 'Pomegranate' was on it, and it will now be a staple in my polish stash!

What do you think? Have you used any of the Gelly polishes?

Red Lips for Red Nose Day

IMG_2110
So as it's Red Nose Day in England today I thought I'd wear red lips for the occasion.
I love Comic Relief, I watch it every year, and I can't wait to see Jessie J shave her head tonight!

Quite simply, I coloured my lips in with MUA's Brooding Plum lip crayon - a colour I often wear on its own because it's beautiful, as you can tell from the picture below.
IMG_2100
I then coloured my lips with Topshop's Hazard - using my lip brush that I forgot to photograph!

I love wearing red lips, they instantly make me feel glamorous, even though today I'm wearing a dinosaur tee and Converse!

What do you think of my red lips? And are you doing anything for Red Nose Day?

Review: Barry M's Lipstick in Burgundy

IMG_1819
IMG_1501
IMG_1497
Barry M's lipstick in #141 - Burgundy - £4.49

I've used this lipstick for ages now, 2 years perhaps? It's a firm favourite in my lipstick collection.
A gorgeous shimmering dark red, this striking colour is perfect for nights out. It doesn't last all night, no, but then again, as it's less than £5 I wouldn't expect it to.
It's well pigmented, takes one or sometimes two coats to be opaque, and doesn't dry out my lips at all.
Once this one runs out - which will be soon, I'll definitely be purchasing a new one!

Weekend Wishlist

Weekend Wishlist

1 2 3 4 5

I've just started watching New Girl - I know, very late to that bandwagon - and I have immediately become obsessed with Zooey Deschanel's style. So this 'Weekend Wishlist' is devoted to pretty flippy dresses!

What's your favourite? I think the first ASOS one is mine!

NOTD: Models Own Indian Ocean

IMG_2018

IMG_2017

As you can tell from this pretty pastel colour, I am impatient for Spring. I've been wearing a lot of nudes recently, but Indian Ocean caught my eye yesterday so I decided to use it for the first time since Summer!
As you you will have noticed, I have used Barry M's Blue Moon underneath Indian Ocean, for the fact that otherwise, it takes 5/6 coats for it to be opaque. I'm not exaggerating unfortunately. I thought Blue Moon matched the blue in the polish quite well, and I'm pleased with the effect. I've used lilac underneath it before which worked beautifully - preferable to this combination actually - and I think I shall baby pink at some time soon, to match the gorgeous pink shimmers running through it.
I love this polish, it reminds me of mermaids! I just wish it didn't take so much to make opaque!

What do you think of this colour, have you used it before? If so, did you layer it onto another colour? x

Weekend Wishlist: Beauty

Weekend Wishlist

1 2 3 4 5 6

This week I thought I'd choose a beauty based wishlist - purely because there are so many pretty things around at the moment!

1. I've been drooling over the Clinique chubby eye sticks since I first saw pictures of them, I can't wait to get my hands on one, I just need to choose a colour!
2. Fine One One is another beauty blogger must have at the moment, it looks fantastic and multifunctional, it may be my first Benefit product!
3. Everyone knows about Apocalips by now surely? I already have one - Nude Eclipse, I want them all though!
4/5/6.  I need no more nail polish, but all three have caught my eye for different reasons. I don't own a vivid pink glitter, I need it!!

What's on your wishlist this weekend? x
