Revlon's Grow Luscious Mascara

With my Benefit They're Real mascara running low, I decided to delve into my massive mascara collection and see what I could find.
Revlon's Grow Luscious mascara has a thick brush, which I am a fan of, and coats eyelashes evenly. I've been using a plastic brush recently, so the bristles were a change, and although the brush is a lot larger than I'm used to, I became accustomed to it quickly and really like it.

When it comes to mascaras, I want my lashes to be thicker, and most importantly, a lot longer. This mascara definitely does that, in 3 coats. I know some people allow each coat to dry before they apply another, but I do not do that because I am lazy and normally in a rush, plus I find allowing each coat to dry doesn't give me as nice an effect.

This is now my go-to mascara, and I imagine it will be for a while! It retails for £9.99 at Revlon stands in Boots, Superdrug and the Revlon website - which I think is a very affordable price, and I probably would repurchase it.

Have you tried this, and if so, what did you think?

Models Own Lip-Stix in 'Purple Pleasure'

Hey guys, today I thought I'd show you a new product that I have been obsessing over for the past few weeks!
When the wonderful people at Models Own decided to put on a 50% sale, I couldn't resist, and along with a plethora of nail polishes, I picked up one of their 'lip-stix' - which seemed to me to be a lot like the Clinique chubby sticks that every company have created dupes for.
I own many a pink lipstick/chubby stick etc, so I thought I'd go for the purple one purely because I want to dip my toe into more purple lip products. And oh my goodness, I could not be more impressed with it.

As those who have tried Chubby Sticks or similar products will know, the colour pay off is rarely amazing, providing a hint of colour as opposed to a real pigmented finish. However, the Models Own Lip Stix are not like that at all. I used one coat of Purple Pleasure and was so surprised at how pigmented it was! It applies beautifully smooth, feeling soft on my lips, adding moisture and the most gorgeous lilac colour to my lips. I am so impressed with this, I really thought that I'd get a hint of colour and some moisture, but not much more!

I am now determined to try some of their other colours, to see how they compare!

Have you tried Models Own Lip-Stix, and if so, what did you think?

Weekend Wishlist

Weekend Wishlist

1 2 3 4 5

This is week's wishlist is a mix of everything really, isn't it? The sheer lip colour from Topshop is new (I think) so I shall definitely be picking that up when I go to Topshop in my hometown next week!

Also, those leggings are dupes for the Black Milk leggings that everyone is loving, so I shall definitely be picking those up, they're literally a fraction of the price!

I'm not sure if dresses in this shape suit me, but I think I'm going to try it on and see!

What's on your wishlist this weekend?

Lush Review: Shoot For The Stars Bath Ballistic

I was lucky enough to receive a tonne of Lush products for Christmas, and this bath bomb is one of the products I received.

I will say now, I think this may be a Christmas special!

This product is meant to have the smell of Honey I Washed The Kids, which I've never smelt, but it apparently a honey/toffee fragrance. I'd definitely agree with that, it had a gorgeously sweet scent that wasn't too overpowering.

As you can see, glitter is definitely a main component for this bath bomb, so if you're not a fan, I wouldn't recommend it. Not only did I come out smelling gorgeous, I came out covered in did my bath. I love glitter, so it wasn't an issue but it is something to watch out for.

The water turned a gorgeous dark purple/blue colour, much prettier than the pictures give it credit for, I definitely think it's the darkest bath bomb I've ever used (the disaster that was The Enchanter not counting.)

It's a shame this is a Christmas special, as I would definitely purchase it.

Have you used it? What did you think?

Weekend Wishlist: Dresses

So I was recently informed I might be attending a wedding in the next four months, and it suddenly occurred to me - I don't own a wedding appropriate dress. I asked my mum and my boyfriend "what do you wear to a wedding?" and was met with a massive list....
Don't wear white, don't wear black, don't wear red, don't have your cleavage on show, don't wear too bright a colour, or a pattern, don't wear anything too tight, or too short, etc etc etc.....
So, perplexed by all these rules, I went on the hunt last night for "wedding appropriate" dresses, and these are what I found....

What do you think? Do you have any rules on what one should not wear at a wedding?

Models Own Hyper Gel Effect Polish in Lilac Sheen

When Models Own announced their 50% off sale last week, I, of course, snapped up some nail polishes, because clearly I don't own enough, cough cough. I decided to pick up one of the new gel effect polishes because I really love the Barry M gel range and was hoping the Models Own range would be similarly awesome.

In need of a new lilac, I picked up Lilac Sheen. A gorgeous pale purple, I fell in love immediately. I am writing this an hour after application, so I can't comment on the longevity yet, but the colour is too beautiful for me to stay quiet.

It applied beautifully, being entirely opaque in two coats. I am a fan of Models Own brushes anyway, and these polishes appear to use the same brushes as they do for their other polishes. The formula is creamy and not gloopy at all, I hate nothing more than a gloopy polish.

I am hoping it will last a while without chipping - I shall fill you in!

Did any of you take advantage of the Models Own sale?
