November Favourites

How is it already December? It's 20 days until Christmas, and have I bought any presents yet? NOPE. Eek! Anyway, here are my December favourites....

How could I not mention the beauty that is the Smoky palette? I am so in love with it, the colours are phenomenal. I've done a proper review here, and if you don't have it, you need it in your life.

As I mentioned in a beauty wishlist a little while ago, I have been lusting over MAC's Russian Red. Long story short, I bought the day after I posted the wishlist and now I'm obsessed with it. I own a lot of matte red lipsticks, yet this is superior in so many ways. I don't know why it took me so long to get this one!

I'm all about my brow products, and I currently use about 5 different things in my regular brow routine, but on days where I'm a bit pushed for time, this beauty has been saving the day. Similar to Benefit's Gimme Brow, this brow gel is amazing.

The They're Real primer was a freebie in a magazine, and I'm not sure if it's available to buy soon, but I hope so! This mink-brown gel works really well at lengthening lashes ready for mascara, and adds another dimension to my eyes. I'm pretty obsessive over mascara and the way my eyelashes look, so I'm a big fan of this!

What were your favourites this month?

Winter Lips

So as it's gets colder, I tend to ditch the pink lipsticks and go for something a little bit darker. I have a myriad of berry lipsticks, and today I thought I'd show you my absolute favourites...currently. I have probably over 100 lipsticks!

2015-11-08 14.57.21

1. Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Plum Plum Girl - I have raved about these lipsticks more than once before, and this is colour is SO GOOD. It's one of the newer colours - and the first berry they've introduced. Here's hoping they bring out some more!

2. Rimmel Lasting Finish in 107 - This lipstick is such a staple and I've seen it on so many beauty blogs over the past few years. I love it a lot, it's the perfect berry colour for this time of year and it applies wonderfully.

3. Barry M Stain Paint in Absolute Burgundy - I love the colour of this, and I picked this up on a whim without hearing anything about the lipsticks, and I'm glad I did!

4 & 5. Topshop Lipstick in Beguiled and Depth. Beguiled is beautiful dark red colour, but it's Depth that I really want to talk about. As a very dark purple, this is easily the darkest lipstick I own. I bought it because I fell in love with the colour, and then didn't wear it for at least a year as I was too nervous about wearing such a dark colour. I got over that though, because it is beautiful!

6. Maybelline Colour Drama in Berry Much - The newest of the bunch, and an absolute beauty. This goes on so soft, and stays for hours - I didn't expect much from it for some reason, and I was happily surprised.

What's your favourite lip colour to wear over Winter? I'm always on the look out for more lipsticks!!

Weekend Wishlist: Boots

It's occurred to me that the only boots I own are black work boots. And as Winter draws in and it gets colder (like this weekend for instance!) I realise I need a much wider range of boot. So this week, I'm wishing for brown boots! ...And an amazing pair of sparkly boots BECAUSE LOOK AT THEM.

Review: Seventeen Blow Out Mascara

For a while now I have obsessively used Benefit mascaras. It was They're Real, and more recently, RollerLash. However I then decided that I didn't want to pay such extortionate prices for mascara, so I took to Twitter and asked the Twittersphere for advice! Two brands stood out - Seventeen and Maybelline. So I went into Boots and perused to see what beauties I could pick out. I decided to get Seventeen's Blow Out because it was on an offer and it promised to give me volume, 12x volume to be exact. Now I didn't expect to have literally 12x the volume, but I was expecting a lot.
So I was a bit...deflated with the results. Don't get me wrong, for £6.29 this mascara is fantastic, it just doesn't rival the likes of Benefit - and that's what I was after. I found that throughout the day I lost the curl, and the volume in my eyelashes, which I wasn't a fan of, and it didn't make my eyelashes as long as I would have liked.

That being said, I'm still using it, because I don't like waste and it's fine for day to day use, but I don't think I'll be repurchasing this.

You can buy Seventeen's Blow Out mascara for £6.29 on the Boots website here or in store.

If you have any recommendations for a high street mascara, please let me know!

Beauty Wishlist

Beauty wishlist

1 2 3 4 5

1 - I am after so many MAC lipsticks, but both Mehr and Russian Red are at the top of my wishlist at the moment. I have 3 atm but none of their iconic reds!

2 - I have the Naked 1 and the Naked Smoky, but I neeeeeed this one in my life. I love pink tones, so I can't wait to get my hands on these colours.

3 - Essie Bahama Mama is a nail polish I hadn't heard of until last week, but I now I know about it I need it in my life. Such is life.

4- This is a practical purchase I have decided. I need a new powder and when I asked the twitter-sphere the resounding answer was this!

5 - This one lipstick represents the entire NYX range. They've started selling their products in Boots and I need them. Neeeeeeed them.

Lush's Yog Nog Bath Bomb

If you've been reading my blog for any length of time, you'll know by now that I am obsessed with Lush's bath products, especially their bath bombs. And today I am showing you another - one of the beautiful Christmas ones!

As the name suggests, this bath bomb shares the same scent as Yog Nog soap - so I knew straight away I would love it. As soon as I popped this in the bath, the gorgeous sweet smell filled the bathroom and immediately made me feel relaxed.
It fizzed white and gold quite quickly, and then halfway through I noticed these little squares embedded into the ballistic, smooth and creamy and smelling just as gorgeous. I later found out it's shea butter - which made my skin gloriously smooth and added to the scent of sweeties!
Tiny glitter particles ran through it all and created a wonderful lustre throughout which I appreciated, and really added to the gold colour the bath was left with after Yog Nog completely fizzed away.

I loved everything about this bath bomb, it may not be as spectacular as others, but it smells gorgeous and left my skin so soft afterwards, I'll definitely be buying this again!

You can purchase Yog Nog from the Lush website here or in your local Lush shop.

Have you used this? What did you think?

Review: Seventeen Brows That Brow Kit

In the past year I have very much become obsessed with my brows. I was never majorly bothered with them - after teenage years of over-plucking I was disillusioned and left them be. But that changed, and now I have a ridiculous amount of brow products. My new, and current favourite? Boot's Seventeen Brow Kit.

This kit is chock full of bits and pieces to make your brows on fleek. (I don't think I'm cool enough to say this.)
It has a dark brown wax, a dark brown powder, a highlighter powder to enhance, a brow pencil and a little brow brush. I'll be honest, I've not used the brow brush because I have loads, but it's a sturdy little thing that's probably great for travelling!
The wax and powder are a fantastic colour that stick around all day, leaving me with wonderfully strong brows whilst I use the pencil to fill in the sparsest part of my brows.
The highlighting powder isn't amazing, but I rarely use highlighting powder for my brows anyway!

I've used this every day since I bought it and I can't imagine changing that soon. At £5.99 it's so affordable, I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Weekend Wishlist: Graduation

So at the end of this month I have my graduation, and I have spent such a long time deciding what to wear...

1 2 3 4 5

I've narrowed it down to these dresses, but I'll be honest, I have no idea! They're all beautiful and I don't know what to wear!
I appreciate any opinions you've got, which one is your favourite?

Review: L.A.B.2 Strokes of Genius Brush Kit

When it comes to make-up brushes, I know what I like. I use a mixture of Urban Decay and Real Techniques brushes, and I always have. However, when L.A.B.2 offered to send me their Strokes of Genius Brush kit, I couldn't refuse.

I'm a fan of the all black sleekness of the kit, so straight away I was intrigued. With 5 brushes catering to all your eye make-up needs, I was excited to give them a go.

Included is:
All over eyeshadow brush
Slanted eyebrow brush
Pointed eyeliner brush
Eyeshadow crease brush
Double sided brow and lash groomer

Both the brow brush and eyeliner brush are interesting, and although I prefer the teardrop shape of some eyeliner brushes, I liked the shape the brush gave my eyeliner. The brow brush was excellent, firm enough to create defined shape without being too difficult to use.
The eyeshadow brushes, however, weren't as soft as I'm used to, which I wasn't a fan of, but there were better at putting product on my eyes than some brushes I've used, so although I wouldn't use this every day, if I'm doing a heavier make-up look, I'd definitely reach for these two brushes.
The brow and lash groomer is standard, and you can never have enough spoolies!
Although I shan't be ditching my usual make-up brushes any time soon, I'm excited to add these into the rotation!

L.A.B.2's Strokes of Genius kit is available from Superdrug for £18.99

What do you think, have you used these?

Urban Decay's Vice4 Palette

Urban Decay have done it again. Just when you think that they can't possibly bring out another beautiful stellar, they do. This is Urban Decay's fourth Vice palette*, and yes, this one is limited edition too. And it is stunning...

This time Urban Decay have created a palette that is reminiscent of an oil slick, and the beautiful edgy packaging is perfect for this. As with all Urban Decay palettes, they have included their beautiful double end eyeshadow brush, with one side perfect for applying colour all over the lid and the other side perfect for popping shadow into the crease of the eye.

The colours are beautiful, with a mix of matte and shimmering shades, and as always the pigmentation of the shadows are beautiful. The range of colours make it such an interesting palette, and none of this shades are in any other palette, making it a must-have for any UD palette lover.
At £43, this palette isn't the cheapest on the market. but with Urban Decay you know that you'll get quality make-up.

Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bittersweet

As I mentioned in a previous post, I was lucky enough to receive  the Urban Decay Fall 2015 collection, and part of it was a few of their wonderful Matte Revolution lipsticks. Now anyone who knows me should know that matte lipstick is one of my loves. (Tea, cake, and matte lipstick. All wonderful things). So as soon as I opened this lipstick and saw the colour I knew I'd love it.

Bittersweet is a gorgeous purple/pink colour that dries matte and stays on for HOURS. Unlike a lot of matte lipsticks, it's creamy and isn't drying on the lips - which is a feat in this current weather! I love it, it's bold and beautiful.

Lush Yoga Bath Bomb

I'll forgive you if you've walked straight past Yoga Bath Bomb when perusing Lush. Compared to the psychedelic colours of The Experimenter or the gorgeous scent of Twilight, it fades into the background. But as I am obsessed with Lush bath bombs, I bought all of the Oxford Street cohort as soon as it appeared in my local Lush. Yoga Bath Bomb was one of these. As soon as I popped it in my bath I was so glad I purchased it, have a look...

As you can see, all is not what it seems with Yoga. It's quite a slow burner so it's nice to watch it as you relax in the bath - and the gorgeous scent of sandalwood really helps with that. The gorgeous orange colours fizzes for a little bit but it's not long until the blue and purse starts oozing out and creating gorgeous colours in the bath, before ending up as the gorgeous gold colour you can see above. There were tiny specks of glitter running through the water as well, which added to the gorgeousness of it all! This is definitely a bath bomb I'll purchase again, I was very pleasantly surprised by it.

Have you tried this? What do you think?

Lush's The Experimenter Bath Bomb

If you hadn't heard about this Lush bath bomb yet, you are missing out. Part of the massive Oxford Street cohort that was released into all stores recently, this bath bomb is a colour sensation. Apologies for a lot of pictures, but something as beautiful as this needs it.

As you can see, The Experimenter is full of colour. With each of the sides a different colour, your bath will be different depending on what side up you put the bath bomb - I was advised to have the blue/pink side facing me as I put it in to make the bath more colourful!
Beautiful colours aside, I was slightly disappointed at the colour this bath went after it had completely dissolved, I expected bright colours and was left with this dark grey instead.
Apart from that, it is amazing. The smell reminds me of Christmas and the popping candy in it just adds to the amazing spectacle that is this bath bomb. It has vanilla, tonka bean and vetivert oil in. I don't know anything about difference fragrances, but I do know that this smells incredible. It lasts on your skin faintly once you're out of the bath, which is lovely.

At £3.95 it isn't the cheapest bath bomb, but it is worth it, and I've already repurchased a few more of these!

Have you used The Experimenter before? What do you think?

September Favourites

So October is here. The month of pumpkin spice lattes and the gorgeous changing colours of leaves. I love Autumn. But first, here are my September favourites.

1. Barry M's Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Polish in 'Plum On Baby Light My Fire' and 'Dark Side of The 'Shroom'. I finally caved in and bought these two colours because they're gorgeous, and they look even better on my nails. I love them, perfect Autumn colours!

2. Urban Decay Primer Potion - I know I'm VERY late to the party with this product, but I have only just discovered this beautiful product. It makes any eyeshadow last all day and it is amazing.

3. Benefit's Roller Lash - I still only have the sample size of this, and started using it because I ran out of They're Real. I've fallen in love with this and I plan on picking up the full size version when this one runs out!

4. Maybelline Colour Drama Lipstick in Red Essential - This entire range is beautiful, but I've chosen Red Essential because I've fallen in love with it this month, Perfect for Autumn and lasts for ages!

5. Urban Decay Microfibre Brow Beater Pencil - this pencil is so thin it mimics hairs, and therefore adds a really natural look to your brows - I use it to fill in my sparser brow before using a brow kit on it. It also has a spoolie on the other end to tame your brows. Perfect!

6. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - I've fallen out of love with my Benefit Erase Paste and it's current cakiness on my face and picked this up on a whim once lunch break. I am so glad I did. The fairest colour is almost perfect for me and it blends beautifully. Expect a full review soon.

Review: Lush's Don't Look At Me Facemask

Don't Look At Me is one of the newer products, I'm not sure if it was part of the Oxford Street cohort, but it definitely came out around the same time as those products hit the rest of the Lush shops.

I'll be honest, I was drawn in by the look of this mask. Look how blue it is! It's beautiful. Don't Look At Me is full of lemon juice and neroli oil to tone and brighten the skin, plus tofu to soften as well. Having used about half the pot now, I can say that these things are all true. It's a fantastic mask. There's just one problem.
The smell.

I don't know what it is, but I don't like it. It's not the lemon juice, or the neroli oil - both scents that I love. But something in this mask just doesn't agree with my nostrils. I think it smells like playdough. Maybe it's the tofu. Who knows. Either way, I don't think I'll be repurchasing this mask purely because the smell puts me off!

What do you think, have you tried this mask, what do you think?

Weekend Wishlist: Boots

Weekend Wishlist

Autumn is beckoning, the 23rd September is officially the first day of Autumn! And as such, I've started thinking about winter boots, and how much I love them. I'm heavy footed and very clumsy, so I get through a pair every winter, therefore it's only fair I start thinking about this year's choice. The two black ones are the most likely, I can't imagine wearing the sparkly ones underneath my workwear, but my oh my how pretty are they?

Ebay Wishlist: Harry Potter Jewelry!

Harry Potter jewelry

To those who know me or follow me on any form of social media, my Harry Potter obsession shouldn't come as a surprise. I read the first book when I was seven, and I was hooked. and fifteen years later, I love it even more. So it was only natural that I eventually entered the foray of Harry Potter jewelry. Fortunately for me, I found a lot on eBay, and even more fortunately, found it very cheaply! I've had some compliments on my awesome jewelry, so I thought I'd share the links to where I got the pieces from! A few of them have sold out since I bought it, so I've chosen something similar instead :)

Anatomicals Make Your Scalp Yelp! Head Shock Shampoo

It's difficult to explain this shampoo. It's like nothing I've ever tried. This shampoo is full of peppermint to invigorate the scalp and refresh you. That, it does. Oh my goodness, my my scalp felt fresher than Alaska when I was rubbing it in.
It made my hair shiny and so clean, which is great. But, be careful to not get the shampoo over your face, because it's all good and well to have an invigorating scalp, but an invigorating cheek? Not so great.
If you want a shampoo that will make your hair feel fresh and super-clean, this is the shampoo for you.
Just don't get it in your eyes.
Anatomicals products are available on the ASOS website!

Review: Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 'So Hap'Pink'

This lipstick has been my absolute favourite for months so I thought it was about time I shared it up on the blog :)

If you haven't used any of the Bourjois Rouge Edition matte lipsticks, well then you're missing out. I own six, and I love them all. The formula is gorgeous - a mousse like formula that dries matte very quickly and lasts all day without drying my lips out. Rare, I think you'll agree. The colour range is great, and I've heard they're bringing out a berry colour for A/W, AMAZING. I'll definitely being picking that up!

So Hap'Pink is a beautiful muted pink, although it's too dark to be counted as a nude, it's still quite a soft colour if you're not a fan of bright, bright lipsticks.

My tube of this is running quite low after using it lots over the past 9 months, so I'll definitely be picking up another tube!

Have you used any of these lipsticks, what do you think?

Review: Lush's Cup o' Coffee Mask

I didn't think it would ever happen, but it has. I have fallen in love with a face mask. Lush's Cup o Coffee has stolen my heart. I've always used face masks, but I've normally bought a sample size, and even if I really liked it, I never bought the full size. However, I heard amazing things about this mask and decided to bite the bullet and get it, and I'm glad I did.

Here, have a picture of me with the mask on my face, looking, quite frankly, terrified. I don't think I was.

I admit, if you don't like the smell of coffee, this mask isn't for you. But if you don't mind it, you must go out and get it. I have never experienced skin so smooth. As it is a body mask/scrub as well, I slathered it all over myself, waited ten minutes and washed it off, and then proceeded to shout FEEL HOW SMOOTH I AM to anyone who came within 10 metres of me (okay not quite...)

As you can imagine from the inclusion of coffee, it is a very invigorating mask, and fantastic to use in the morning when you're feel a bit groggy before your morning shower. This exfoliating mask is full of cocoa and vanilla oil as well, to make your face bright and smooth. I'm obsessed with it.
I've also taken to scrubbing my legs with it before I shave them, it makes them so much softer than normal!

If you've used it, let me know what you thought!
