Recipe: Lemon Loaf Cake

Hi guys, today I thought I'd show you a recipe I make quite a lot, lemon loaf cake!
It's based on a BBC recipe, but I didn't think it was lemon-y enough so I altered it a bit :)

225g unsalted butter (or margarine like I used)
225g self raising flour
225g caster sugar
4 eggs
1tsp baking powder
the juice of one lemon

First, heat your oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4 and make sure you have a loaf dish and some butter to line it with (and greaseproof paper if you want too.)
1. Cream together the butter and sugar, with a spoon or mixer
2. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl, then add them slowly to the butter and sugar, mixing each time you add some egg,
3. Sift in the flour and baking powder
4. Add the lemon juice and mix.
5. Line the loaf tin with the greaseproof paper and pour the mixture in.
6. Try your very hardest not to eat all the raw cake batter. I know it's hard.
7. Pop in the oven for about 50 minutes, or until a skewer (or fork) comes out clean.

If any of you guys make this, please send me a photo on twitter (@sirensandbells) or snapchat (sirensandbells)

MOTD: Shiny Eyes and Matte Lips

With my makeup, I normally do the same thing, minimal base makeup, UD Naked Palette, They're Real Mascara and either a nude lipstick or a super bright pink lipstick. I did something a little different last week so I thought I'd show you :)

I plan on doing reviews of a few of the products soon, let me know if there's a specific one you'd want to see!

Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette

Everyone and their mother has reviewed the Urban Decay Naked Palette, but it's so beautiful that when I got my hands on one, I couldn't NOT review it!

Such beautiful colours! I think the first of the naked palettes is definitely the prettiest, though I want to purchase the third soon! The only thing that I don't like about the first naked palette is the case, it's almost furry and attracts dirt very easily, unlike the other two which have a metallic cover.

The colours are beautiful and last all day, although it is an expensive palette (£38) I would definitely say it's worth it, I've tried a lot of eyeshadows, and this is definitely the best for both staying power and lack of fall out.

I'm using the same three colours at the moment: Sin (second from left) washed all over the lid, Sidecar (fourth from left) in the crease and Hustle (third from right) in the outer corners. It's a neutral, quick look and I love it - I may do a post about it soon.

What's your opinion on the Naked Palette?

Weekend Wishlist: Wrap

Weekend Wishlist: Wrap

1 2 3 4

This week I am lusting after all things wrap. I have an hourglass figure but am quite big at the same time, therefore wrap dresses/tops really suit me, and here are the four things I'm loving most. I love a patterned dress, my wardrobe is severely lacking in them!

What's your weekend wishlist? If you've posted one this week, pop it in the comments below, I'd love to have a look!

April Favourites!

This month I've done all beauty products with one exception!

2. Lush's Snow Fairy Shower Gel - I didn't like the smell of Snow Fairy for the longest time, but I received it as a Christmas gift and I am now obsessed!

3. Penguin Classics - for Penguin's 80th birthday, they released 80 little books for 80p each. They're all either poetry or short stories. I currently have about 13, I want them all!

4. Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze - the amazing Vivianna Does Makeup has raved about this so much, I had to pick it up. It's such a gorgeous bronze colour, I love it.

5. Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Pencil in Love My Pink - I picked these up a few weeks ago and I love the colour, the perfect pink for Spring!

6. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Hap'Pink - Another beautiful pink lipstick that lasts all day without much reapplying! I'll be reviewing this soon.

7. Bourjois Intuitive Liner - This liquid liner has three small prongs, meaning you can do either a more natural look by dotting it on your upper eyelid, or dragging it across like a normal eyeliner. My favourite of the moment.
